Overview and Gameplay
Madagascar: Operation Penguin follows Private as Skipper assigns missions connected to the penguins’ escape from the Central Park Zoo. The 18 stages move through zoo tunnels, a ship, Antarctica, and Madagascar. Each mission sets a specific objective involving platforming, enemies, environmental hazards, and gadgets.
Completed missions open new tunnel entrances in the Penguins’ Lair and later become accessible from the ship’s control room. Alex and Marty appear as playable characters in selected stages. Progress, collected medals, health, lives, and finished objectives save automatically after each level.
Controls And Mechanics
Private can jump, crawl, belly-slide, swim, dive, and glide with a parachute. Gadgets include bass knuckles for close attacks, a blow straw that fires sleeper darts, a fruit slingshot, soda-bottle jet packs, and candy canes used to cross compatible ceilings.
Fish icons represent health. Small fish restore one slot, while golden fish refill the current meter. Every 100 medals adds a permanent health slot, up to seven. Medal totals are recorded separately for each mission.
