Overview and Gameplay

Donkey Kong steals a shipment of Mini-Mario toys, sending Mario through six worlds to recover them. Standard levels have two sections: carry a key to a locked door before time expires, then reach the stolen toy. Each world continues with a Mini-Mario escort stage and a Donkey Kong battle.

Completing the main worlds unlocks six Plus Worlds, where a Mini-Mario carries the key and must reach the exit with Mario. High-score stars open Expert Levels built around additional key-and-door puzzles.

Controls And Mechanics

Mario runs, crouches, climbs, carries objects, swings from wires, and performs backflips or handstand jumps. Colored switches change matching platforms, blocks, and ladders, while conveyors, springs, elevators, hammers, and movable enemies create routes through each stage.

Three presents appear in standard levels; collecting all of them opens a bonus game for extra lives. Remaining time and collected items add to the score. Running out of time or touching a lethal enemy or hazard costs a life and restarts the level.
