Overview and Gameplay
Medal of Honor: Underground follows French Resistance fighter Manon Batiste as she joins the OSS and carries out missions across occupied Europe and North Africa. The campaign contains 17 objective-based levels built around combat, document recovery, covert photography, escort tasks, and reaching an exit after every required objective is complete. Passwords restore campaign progress and allow completed stages to be replayed.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves forward or backward and turns Manon, while L and R strafe. A fires the equipped weapon or performs contextual actions, B changes weapons, Select reloads, and Start pauses to show objectives and enemy totals. Weapons include a pistol, Sten gun, shotgun, grenades, petrol bombs, and fists when ammunition runs out. Ammunition and health items are collected by walking over them.
Automatic target locking activates when the crosshair passes over an enemy. Mission ratings depend on objective completion, enemy elimination, and remaining health. Difficulty settings alter how much health carries between levels. Two linked Game Boy Advance systems support simultaneous head-to-head battles, with the first player to score ten eliminations winning.
Version Notes
This handheld adaptation restructures the 2000 PlayStation game as a 17-level portable first-person shooter. It uses automatic target locking, level passwords, and a temporary Mission Log suited to the Game Boy Advance format.
