Overview and Gameplay
CT Special Forces 2: Back in the Trenches follows a counter-terrorist unit through 21 missions across Africa, North America, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. Ground stages feature side-scrolling combat, platforms, mines, fortified positions, hostages, vehicles, and mission targets. Other sections use parachute descents, first-person sniper assignments, attack and rescue helicopters, tanks, trucks, and convoy missions. Three difficulty settings adjust the campaign, while passwords restore progress to completed stages.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad runs, crouches, aims, steers, or drives according to the current section. A jumps, performs rolls with directional input, drops helicopter bombs, or fires vehicle weapons. B fires standard weapons and deploys the parachute. L changes weapons, while R throws grenades or exits supported vehicles. Health, lives, ammunition, and grenades appear on the HUD, and special weapons require limited ammunition pickups. Two-player Challenge mode uses a Game Link Cable for simultaneous competitive time trials.
