Overview and Gameplay
Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge follows six Operator and NetNavi pairs competing in the Battle Chip GP for a rare chip. Each pair has its own dialogue and tournament route. The campaign begins in E Class and advances through higher events by placing well in tournaments.
Between matches, Zenny pays entry fees and buys chip packs. New Battle Chips, Navi Chips, opponents, shops, and battle areas become available through progression. Free Battle provides standalone fights, while Battle Holding uses registered NetNavi Codes to create custom tournaments.
Controls And Mechanics
Combat runs from a programmed deck built around one Navi Chip and up to eleven Battle Chips. Chip placement depends on the Navi’s memory capacity and the limits of each action slot. During a turn, the selected plan executes several Battle Chips before the Navi acts. Chips have attributes, speed, attack effects, and their own durability, so destroyed chips can remove later actions from the plan.
The L and R buttons activate two preset Slot-In chips as the gauge rises. Battles end when a Navi loses all HP or after ten turns, when remaining resources and damage determine the result. Busting Level affects post-battle rewards.
Two-player link battles use two systems and two cartridges. Opponents fight simultaneously on Normal or Random stages, and the winner receives randomly selected chip data based on the loser’s deck.
