Overview and Gameplay

A new breeder joins AGIMA on Age Island and creates monsters by entering words and characters at the Shrine. Weekly schedules divide time among training, rest, feeding, sparring, exploration, item use, and tournaments. Official victories raise monster and breeder ranks, expand Shrine inputs, unlock facilities and breeds, and lead toward the Great Four and Emperor Cup.

Monsters develop Power, Intelligence, Accuracy, Speed, Defense, and Life while fatigue, stress, weight, traits, and lifespan affect training. Retired monsters can become coaches, stored monsters can be combined, and expeditions through Tapota, Malkt, and Promias Ruins reveal items, routes, obstacles, and stray monsters.

Controls And Mechanics

The directional pad moves during battles and switches between two movesets. A uses the technique available at the current range, B enters or cancels Counter mode, and R separates adjacent monsters. Techniques consume Guts, which regenerates to a maximum of 99. Matches end by knockout or after 60 seconds, when the higher remaining Life percentage wins.

Game Link Cable play supports simultaneous competitive battles for up to four systems, including single-monster and tag-team formats. Linked copies also allow monster trading and Soulmate interactions.

Version Notes

In the North American release, a newly generated or combined monster gains weight each week until its first monthly feeding, which can affect early condition and traits.
