Overview and Gameplay
Oriental Blue: Ao no Tengai follows a chosen male or female protagonist who arrives in the Blue Land carrying an ancient document. The capital Daito faces transformation into a demon realm, while regional events develop according to the order and timing of the protagonist’s actions.
The campaign uses a free-scenario structure across towns, dungeons, and overworld routes. Settlements can be attacked, certain defeats create new story branches, and recruitment choices determine which companions become available. An in-game diary records completed events and active developments.
Controls And Mechanics
Command-based battles use menus for attacks, items, defense, and Magic Stones. Stones consume MP, require sufficient Intelligence, and provide battle or field effects. Raw stones can be combined through recipes, analyzed for later production, or fused into weapons and armor to improve attributes and add special properties.
Enemies adjust to scenario progress, allowing regions to be approached in different orders. Some carried items trigger events when used at the correct place or time.
