Overview and Gameplay
Tom and Jerry in Infurnal Escape begins after a grand piano flattens Tom and sends him to the Underworld. An angel offers to restore his final life if he completes missions and improves his karma, while Jerry interferes with his progress.
Stages connect through a map screen and use password-based continuation. Tom explores side-scrolling areas, climbs, slides, glides, activates switches, moves TNT barrels, and avoids traps. Mission goals include collecting at least 25 of 30 Golden Bones in the Dog Army Camp and freeing at least 8 of 10 Alley Cats in the Musketeer levels. Collecting every required object in a stage earns a 100% result.
Controls And Mechanics
Tom attacks with his paws or a wooden club. The club can distract bulldogs, ignite objects after being lit at a fire source, and solve environmental puzzles. Cheese removes Jerry when he blocks Tom.
Fish restore health, extra-life tokens add lives, Weird Glasses hide Tom from enemies, and Super Tom grants temporary protection from attacks and traps. Tom can take two hits before the third costs a life. Losing all lives sends him through an Underworld sequence before play continues.
