Overview and Gameplay
Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus follows Princess Annika as she works with Brietta to reverse Wenlock’s spell and restore the kingdom’s petrified inhabitants. Side-scrolling stages lead through the Cloud Palace, Kingdom Village, Forbidden Forest, Glacier Caverns, and Wenlock’s Palace. Annika rescues villagers, finds Power Jewels, opens hidden enchanted doors, and clears bosses and flying transitions. Arcade Mode lets completed Pegasus Flights and bonus mini-games be replayed.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves Annika, A jumps, and B uses the Wand of Light. R cycles through unlocked wand powers, while L with the directional pad looks above or below. The wand restores villagers, breaks suitable blocks, and affects enemies. Power Jewels grant vertical flight, horizontal travel, plant transformation, and ice-melting abilities.
Pegasus Flights place Brietta in obstacle courses where the directional pad steers and A flaps her wings. Collecting every coin in a flight awards a bonus heart and a film picture. Hidden keys open mini-games that unlock additional costumes. Normal difficulty uses a limited Chance Meter, while Easy difficulty removes that penalty. Progress continues through a four-picture password system.
Version Notes
The Game Boy Advance edition is a standalone 2D platform adventure developed specifically for the handheld.
