Overview and Gameplay
Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper follows Anneliese, Erika, Serafina, and Wolfie as they search the kingdom for clues and map pieces leading to Preminger’s secret hideout. Adventure Mode moves through the Royal Orchards, Evergreen Forest, Crystal Mines, Village, and the final hideout. Each area uses side-scrolling platform stages, character switching, and environmental puzzles. Completing locations adds pieces to the map, while four-picture passwords preserve progress.
Arcade Mode unlocks four mini-games after they are cleared in the adventure: Fruit Fling, Up the Well, Mine Trap, and Shutter Up.
Controls And Mechanics
Erika sings to shake fruit loose, break glass, and trigger distant mechanisms. Anneliese raises a shield to block hazards and can glide with it. Serafina climbs marked surfaces, and Wolfie digs through marked ground. The active character changes with the L button.
Easy mode removes limited chances and lowers some collection targets. Normal mode uses a rose-shaped life meter and higher targets; Health Flowers restore lost petals. Leaving an unfinished stage restarts it.
Arcade mini-games award points for collected stars and faster finishes. Two-player Arcade play is turn-based on one system, and the higher score wins.
