Overview and Gameplay

Ryu works as a Ranger with his friend Bow until a theft accusation leads them into a conflict tied to Ryu’s lost family and dragon heritage. The party crosses towns, forests, caves, castles, and other dungeons while following story events and recruiting companions.

Turn-based battles award experience and Zenny for levels, equipment, spells, and supplies. Four characters can fight at once, while reserve members wait at designated locations. Personal Actions support fishing, hunting, breaking obstacles, frog travel, and flight. Township development adds recruitable residents, shops, and services.

Controls And Mechanics

The directional pad moves the leader and menu cursor. A confirms commands, talks, inspects objects, and uses the leading character’s Personal Action. B cancels or enables faster movement. L opens party order and formation commands, while R selects defence.

HP controls survival, AP powers magic and dragon abilities, and formations change party positions. Shamans can fuse with compatible characters to alter statistics, abilities, and appearance. Defeat returns the party to its last permanent save point and removes one quarter of carried Zenny. Two linked systems can exchange eligible inventory or bank items between save files.

Version Notes

This enhanced Game Boy Advance port adds faster movement, temporary saving, link-cable item trading, redesigned menus, item and spell icons, redrawn portraits, and higher battle rewards.
