Overview and Gameplay

Lan Hikari and MegaMan.EXE enter the N1 Grand Prix while investigating network incidents linked to Dr. Wily and the revived WWW organization. Progress alternates between real-world exploration as Lan and computer networks controlled by MegaMan. Each scenario uses conversations, clues, device networks, virus encounters, dungeon hazards, and NetNavi bosses.

Battle Chips, Zenny, HP Memories, RegUP items, BugFrags, and Navi Customizer programs expand MegaMan’s abilities. BBS jobs, optional Navi battles, chip-library completion, Virus Breeding, Secret Areas, and postgame challenges provide additional objectives.

Controls And Mechanics

Combat takes place on two opposing 3-by-3 panel grids. MegaMan moves in real time, fires the MegaBuster, and uses Battle Chips selected from the Custom Screen. Matching chip codes allow several chips to be loaded together, while specific sequences activate Program Advances.

The Navi Customizer fits programs into a grid to improve health, Buster performance, movement, and special abilities. Style Change assigns an element and combat specialty based on battle behavior. Busting Level grades deletion speed, damage taken, movement, and simultaneous virus defeats, affecting battle rewards.

Two systems, two cartridges, and a Game Link Cable support simultaneous NetBattles, chip trading, and Data Library comparison.

Version Notes

White Version features Ground Style, MistMan, its own Giga Chips, different chip codes, and other version-specific programs and encounters.
