Overview and Gameplay
Falling tetrominoes must be arranged into complete horizontal lines before the stack reaches the top of the playfield. Endless mode raises the level after every ten cleared lines, increasing the falling speed while an orchestra and animated Tetrisman scenes develop in the side-screen Theater.
Time Attack awards as many points as possible within two minutes. Challenge mode presents ten fixed tasks, including scoring 100,000 points, clearing 100 lines, surviving level 99, and completing special line-clear conditions.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad moves pieces, soft-drops with Down, and hard-drops with Up. A rotates clockwise, B rotates counterclockwise, and either shoulder button stores or exchanges a piece through Hold. Optional support settings include a ghost landing guide, wall-kick assistance, extended lock delay, and up to six upcoming-piece previews.
Completed lines award points, with larger clears producing higher values. Competitive link play supports two to four systems with one cartridge. Standard matches send garbage lines to opponents, while Arrange mode compares scores within a time limit and returns topped-out players to the field after a delay.
