Overview and Gameplay
V-Rally 3 follows a rally career built around team contracts, stage times, and championship results. Drivers begin in the 1.6L class, then unlock faster 2.0L teams, additional cars, and more Specials through successful seasons. Seven rally countries provide five point-to-point stages each.
V-Rally Cross changes the format to closed-circuit races against three opponents, with semifinal and final rounds used to earn higher licenses. Time Trial allows practice with unlocked cars and courses while recording best times.
Controls And Mechanics
The directional pad steers, A accelerates, and B brakes. Pressing A and B together applies the handbrake, while a quick double press of A activates stored boost in V-Rally Cross. L and R handle reverse or manual gear changes, and Select switches between external and cockpit views where available.
Service Park visits allow tire selection, suspension and gearbox adjustments, and repairs to bodywork, steering, brakes, suspension, and turbo systems. Repairs consume limited service time, so damaged parts may need to be prioritized.
Game Link play supports simultaneous two-player Time Trial and V-Rally Cross races, with one cartridge required for each system.
Version Notes
This North American release includes English, French, and Spanish language options. The Game Boy Advance edition uses a handheld-specific selection of cars, modes, and stages.
